Internationally famed Pakistani Qawwal Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been awarded the lifetime achievement award by Oxford University at Holywell Music Room, Oxford, UK. The awards has been rewarded for his contribution to music.

Khan also delivered a lecture on music, specifically the art of Qawwali at Oxford and became the only second Asian to have the honour. Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan from India had given this opportunity.

He received a warm welcome and also jammed with the fusion project students at Oxford. Earlier, Khan also had the honour to perform Sufi Qawwali at United Nations General Assembly.
