Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Minister of State for Information Broadcast and National Heritage Ms. Marriyum Aurangzeb have urged Social Media users to refrain from negative propaganda against constitutional institutions. Nisar also issued orders for action against those dishonouring army on social media.

In a statement, the Info minister have said those, who are using social media for slanderous and negative propaganda against the constitutional state institutions, are warned to desist from this undesirable activity. She warned that all the suspicious accounts, which are being used for propaganda against these entities, are under strict surveillance and action will be taken against the users of these accounts under the Cyber Crimes Law.

“Ridiculing the army or its officers under the garb of freedom of expression is unacceptable,” warned the Interior Minister in a statement. Nisar told that targeting a disciplined and reputed organisation of the country was not only a matter of concern but was also a serious offence and strict action should be taken against those who, intentionally or unintentionally, were committing such an offence.

Reportedly, the orders have been issued after social media users took to Twitter and Facebook to discourage Pakistan Army’s decision to take its Tweet back on Dawn Leaks.
