Pakistan have been making and breaking many Guinness World Records for last few years. The most recent is made by Lifebuoy Pakistan on October 22nd in a gigantic public gathering where they attempted most double high fives in one minute. The attempt is now officially declared as the new world record. “The most double high fives in relay in one minute is 96, achieved by Lifebuoy Soap (Pakistan), in Karachi, Pakistan, on 22 October 2016,” states Guinness World Record official website.
The attempt was made to raise awareness among masses so that they wash their hands five times a day and reduce preventable diseases like diarrhea and pneumonia, which are the most common reasons of child mortality in Pakistan as well as many other parts of the world.

This initiative is a part of Lifebuoy’s hygiene behavior change program, which is being run since 2010 in large parts of the world. As a part of this program, they are targeting to change hand washing behavior of one billion people by 2020 worldwide. We wish them a very good luck for this amazing initiative.
In 2009, Lifebuoy also co-founded Public Private Partnership for Hand washing (PPPHW) for their cause to bring masses attention to hand washing as a key presentation. Currently, PPPHW has spread in fifteen countries across four continents.
The initiative also aims to contribute to Millennium Development Goal 4 (MDG 4) to reduce the mortality of children under five by two-thirds by this year.
