Pushing the boundaries of conventional storylines, actress Yumna Zaidi is once again back with a new drama serial, with an intriguing avatar. The upcoming drama serial Bakhtawar just released its first teasers, and by the looks of it, the actress seems to be donning two completely opposite looks in it.
In one the avatars donned by the actress, she looks like a timid young girl who maintains pardah. In another albeit interesting one, Zaidi is seen in a tomboyish look, featuring short hair, manly attire, and a lot more confidence than her other look. She is also seen almost getting in a brawl with men in the streets, and refers to herself with he-him pronouns. Despite it looking like a dual role, it seems more like the character dons two polar opposite getups to help her navigate the hardships of life.

According to HUM TV, the plot of the serial revolves around “the journey of a young headstrong girl trying to escape her troubled home, difficulties and pain and create a better tomorrow for herself.”

In another teaser, we see other cast members as well, namely Zaviyar Naumaan Ijaz and Shamoon Abbasi, who seem like they are looking for a missing witness to a crime. It also denotes Bakhtawar’s involvement in the scenario, and sparks further interest in the story.
Zaidi also posted promotional material on her Instagram, with many celebs congratulating her in the comments. Actresses like Sajal Aly and Yashma Gill wished her good luck for this new role, and shared how they can’t wait to catch her performance on the screen.
