Ali Zafar’s lawyer claimed that a smear campaign against his client was started after he replaced Atif Aslam in the second season of Battle of the Bands.

Lahore’s session court conducted yet another hearing in a defamation case filed by Ali against Meesha Shafi. The female singer’s manager Farhan Ali appeared in front of the court and answered the questions by Ali’s lawyer.

The defendant’s lawyer inquired Farhan about the friendship status of Meesha and Atif. He also confirmed from Farhan that Ali was to replace Atif in the second season of Battle of the Bands.

In reply, Farhan shared that Ali was signed to replace Atif as a judge in the music show. “We came to know about Ali replacing Atif in Battle of Bands through Saatchi & Saatchi,” he was quoted saying as per ARY News.

Moreover, Farhan was asked whether Meesha told him about Ali harassing her or not. “She just shared the incident briefly with me. I came to know about the complete incident after reading her legal statements. I wasn’t present at the jamming sessions so I don’t know what happened there,” he replied.

It must be noted here that the court has already issued notice to Meesha to appear in front of the court to record her statement. But, Meesha excused appearing because she currently resides in Canada and can’t travel amid the COVID-19 virus.

Remember, Meesha, on April 19, 2018, accused Ali of harassing her during a project. The singer filed an FIR against Teefa In Trouble actor. In November 2018, Ali rejected all the allegations and claimed that a number of fake accounts are involved in running the #MeToo campaign against him on different social platforms.
