Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has now come under criticism for giving a green signal to class 9 and 11 exams amid rising COVID-19 cases in the country.

On Wednesday, Mahmood denied all reports regarding the cancellation of class 9 and 11 exams. “Class 9 and 11 exams will take place according to the timetable of the respective boards. No truth in rumors that they will not be held,” he wrote.

While taking note of the tweet, students once again criticized the education minister for risking their lives.

Earlier, the government had to cancel postpone O and A level exams after students held protests against the decision risking their lives. Social activist and lawyer, Barrister Hassaan Niazi and Jibran Nasir were the two prominent names who fought the case for CAIE students.
