Last night, the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night was held in Dubai and was attended by stars from some of the biggest entertainment industries around the globe. From Pakistan, Fahad Mustafa was a part of it, along with Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly. The actor received the Promising Star of Pakistan award for his contribution to the Pakistani entertainment industry, and gave a heartfelt acceptance speech.

“It is such an honour, no matter if it’s Pakistani actors or Indians, to be standing at the Filmfare stage,” he started, commending Sajal’s speech before him.

He went on to express his admiration for Bollywood’s renowned actor Govinda, who was present in the audience, along with Ranveer Singh and other notable personalities. “I started acting in the first place because of Govinda sir. Sir, we are huge fans of you and we Pakistanis used to feel that however we act, it needs to be like Govinda sir’s. It’s a stroke of good luck to be standing on the same stage where you once stood,” he said.

He further expressed his wishes for India and Pakistan’s entertainment industries to collaborate once again. “I really hope that Pakistan and India can once again come together to work on great projects, and for our films to run in both countries,” he shared, ending his speech with his signature ‘Jeeto Pakistan’ chant.

Post-speech, Fahad rushed from the stage to touch Govinda’s feet and to take his blessings. He also shook hands with Ranveer Singh and shared a hug with him. This wholesome crossover has been going viral on social media, with fans wishing for the actors to collaborate and for more cross-cultural projects.
