Peshawar Zalmi Foundation with the aim to promote and work for women empowerment, organized a One-Day training camp for Girls Cricketers at National Cricket Academy (NCA) Lahore with support of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and US Consulate Lahore. A total of 40 girls from Lahore and Peshawar spent a great learning day at NCA under the guidance of Cricket experts and coaches of PCB.

Chairman Peshawar Zalmi and Peshawar Zalmi Foundation, Mr. Javed Afridi appreciated girls from both cities for taking part in the camp and assured more such activities in future for Women Sports. “We decided to spend 30% of our income from Peshawar Zalmi to Peshawar Zalmi Foundation and will do our best to #BringBackSmiles,” said the chairman. “Youth and women empowerment are our main focus and we will organize more camps, tournaments and activities for them” he added.

U.S. Consul General Yuriy Fedkiw also praised the initiative. “Good to see Girls Cricket camp organize with help of PCB and Peshawar Zalmi Foundation, such activities will spread the culture for engaging more girls into Sports,” said the Consul General. at the occasion. “I also like to congratulate Mr. Javed Afridi and his foundation for helping girls to build their passion and also get a chance to polish skills under best professionals,” he added.

NCA coach and former Pakistan cricket great Mushtaq Ahmed also appreciated effort of Peshawar Zalmi Chairman in promotion of sports. “Peshawar zalmi and Javed Afridi not only working for betterment of sports but also their efforts to organize activity for youth and women empowerment are like a example for other franchises,” he told.

Along PCB cricket coaches, star players Kamran Akmal, Muhammad Hafeez and Bilawal Bhatti also gave valuable coaching tips to girls.
