Zee5’s original Pakistani web series ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ featuring Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir sparked a controversy on social media.
The trailer of the series has been released on Youtube and after watching it, Pakistanis think that the story of the project is against the Two Nation Theory presented by the founders of the country.
The story of the web series revolves around Pakistan-India tensions at the Line of Control (LOC) in Kashmir. Sajal Aly appears as Sara from Pakistan and Ahad Raza Mir as Vishal from India, both lost their fathers during firing at the LOC. Later on, the characters share their grief through social media leading to their friendship which came as a surprise for their families.
Here’s how Pakistanis reacted to this story:
On March 8, 1944, Quaid-i-Azam while addressing in Muslim University Aligarh, said:
“Actually Pakistan came into being when the very first Hindu converted into Muslim, it happened, when there was no rule of Muslims…..”#BanDhoopKiDeewar pic.twitter.com/7FpQu7vNfk— M. Saad Arslan Sadiq (@Arslan_Sadiq) June 18, 2021
Indian proxies are killing our soldiers in Balochistan and we are sponsoring the web series based on Anti state and Kashmir narrative. Shame! #BanDhoopKiDeewar#DhoopKiDeewar pic.twitter.com/17U5tq39bc

Pakistan will always stand with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.
Unfortunately Sajal and Ahad have become a part of 5th generation war of India against Pakistan for money. #BanDhoopKiDeewar pic.twitter.com/HbB4Nt2mXj— Aruba Muzaffar🇵🇰🇵🇸 (@MuzaffarAruba) June 18, 2021

#BanDhoopKiDeewar in Pakistan, its cast, story writer, producer and facilitator should be asked who gave them right to defame thousands of Pakistani and kashmiri shaheeds.

It is an old Indian tradition to stab in the back under the guise of friendship. This mistake will not be repeated again.#BanDhoopKiDeewar

If trade with India could be stopped, wouldn’t the media be held responsible for the 5th generation war?
