Renowned civil rights activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir faced criticism on Twitter after he shared his views on Pakistani people getting inspired by Turkish culture by watching famous drama serial ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’.
While sharing his thoughts on Twitter, the social activist said that Pakistan has vast cultures that are not showed to the world which is why the nation faces an identity crisis.
“We’ve many beautiful cultures in Pak but many still face an identity crisis which is also seen in our diaspora. Being ourselves often causes “Goras” to confuse us as Indians due to our similarities so we mimicked Arabs tracing our roots to Bin Qasim. Now we’re trying being Turks,” he wrote.
The majority of his followers didn’t like him making such comments at a time when the Drama serial ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ has recorded immense viewership on PTV’s Youtube channel. People believe that this drama serial connects them to Muslims history.
These people are absolutely mad, they have lost all reasoning in their self hate.
It’s ok for Pakistanis to binge on indian tv, American films, british tv. But a Turkish drama suddenly offends them.

Jibran is having an identity crisis. Who told you to look at yourself from “gora’s” eyes.
Use your own.
For your kind information, we never followed Arabs but Khilafat-e- Usmania was the big thing in the 19th century. But why would you know that?— farrah raja (@farrahraja) May 10, 2020
It must be noted here that the PTV telecasted ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan who wants Pakistani youth to know about Islamic history.
