Life challenges us in many ways; financially, physically and mentally. We continue to face each day with the motivation to excel. But for some, the journey is strewn with more difficulties than what others encounter, like the deaf community of Pakistan. Their hunger to prove that they are active members of the society is hampered by the lack of job opportunities and education avenues available for them. It is our responsibility as a community to provide equal opportunities for everyone and we are glad to see that KFC is taking action and taking the initiative of building an inclusive society whole new level!
KFC has spearheaded its Mitao Bhook campaign for years, which is a CSR platform that gives back to society. Through Mitao Bhook, the brand aims to improve the life of deprived individuals and creating a community that provides equal opportunities to everyone. KFC has funded research for cancer treatment with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center, They have closely worked with The Citizen Foundation – TCF to provide underprivileged students a right to education. KFC also partnered with Deaf Reach Program, with the aim to create job and education opportunities for one of Pakistan’s most neglected community.

For years, KFC Mitao Bhook has helped deaf individuals work and manage their restaurant network. The only hindrance that has been observed in this initiative is the communication gap between KFC’S special staff and their customers. Hence, KFC has designed the Sign Movement which focuses on educating their customers about the Sign Language that they need to communicate with their deaf staff.
Partnering with former VJ and talk show host Anoushey Ashraf, KFC has initiated their campaign “LETS SIGN TOGETHER” where a series of videos walk you through greeting, ordering and paying in Sign Language in a fun-filled way. This will make the process of communication between the special staff and customers really simple and fun.
How can you be a part of the Sign Movement? You can watch KFC’s on-going campaign, learn the basics of Sign Language you require to interact with the special staff and become a part of an initiative that is making Pakistan a more inclusive and accepting society for people with disabilities! Let’s join hands with KFC in making inclusion a societal norm. Be a part of something special with KFC, Lets Sign Together!
