Pakistani veteran actor Naila Jaffery lost her life while battling with cancer in Karachi, her family confirmed on Saturday.
Naila, who confirmed being diagnosed with cancer in a video in April this year, will be buried in the evening today. The actor was under treatment at a local hotel for the last couple of months.
Previously, the actor lamented for lack of financial support in a video released on social media.
“I have been suffering from cancer for the last six years. Meanwhile, I have always thought about having no support from the government for artists, especially seniors and those ailing ones,” she had said.
“Policymakers and government should think about and develop something worthy for artists like me who are going through a tough patch of life. It could have helped a lot,” the actor had suggested.
Taking notice of the video, Sindh’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities – Sardar Shah assured her to bear the financial expenses of her treatment.
