Sindh government’s representative has taken notice of Naila Jaffery’s video and extended an offer to provide financial assistance to the veteran actress.

Taking to Twitter, Sindh’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities – Sardar Shah reacted to Naila’s video message in which she lamented the lack of support from the government to artists, especially those who are suffering through a tough patch of their life.

“Culture department will happily bear all her expenses .. can anyone share her contact number?” he replied to the video.

In the same video message, Naila shared that she is suffering from cancer and living life in difficulties with no support from the government for her services to tv industry.

“I have been suffering from cancer for the last six years. Meanwhile, I have always thought about having no support from the government for artists, especially seniors and those ailing ones,” she said.

“Policymakers and government should think about and develop something worthy for artists like me who are going through a tough patch of life. It could have helped a lot,” she added.

Naila suggested authorities make a way to pay artists an amount for their re-run projects. “Earlier, when I joined PTV, I used to get a certain amount for my re-run dramas. But, later on, that thing stopped. The last drama I did, re-ran at least four times but I didn’t get anything for it. Authorities should look into it,” concluded Naila.
