Late last night, Pakistan’s most popular cricketer Shahid Afridi said goodbye to his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi. In a tweet, he wrote that he was announcing his end of service as president and player of Peshawar Zalmi team due to personal reasons.
Afridi lead Peshawar Zalmi in inaugural season of PSL and handed over captaincy to West Indies’ T20 World Cup winning captain Darren Sammy for second season. Sammy led the side and lifted the trophy in a historic final against Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan.
In a tweet, the former captain only announced to end his services for Peshawar Zalmi and left fans uncertain if he would be available for third season or not.

In a following tweet, the Boom Boom paid best wishes to his former PSL side and showed confidence on his fans that they will be with him wherever he go.

The reason for Afridi’s sudden disassociation with Peshawar Zalmi is still unknown and according to some reports, team owner, management and coach, all of them were unaware of the news.

Some other reports claimed that he had issues with Javed Afridi and both of them were not even talking for some time.

Another reporter claimed that Afridi was not happy with Javed Afridi over his statement regarding Darren Sammy’s conversion to Islam.
