Pakistan’s legendary comedian late Umer Sharif’s son Jawad shared that his father turned down US citizenship in respect of Pakistani passport.
While speaking in an event held at Arts Council Karachi in remembrance of the comedian, Jawad said his father always gave importance to Pakistan and its people.
“My father gave importance to Pakistan and its people everywhere in the world. He brought smiles to millions of faces around the world and it is the reason why his demise made everyone sad,” he said.
“He loved Pakistan so much. He turned down US citizenship, saying ‘Pakistan’s passport is the strongest’,” recalled Jawad.
It must be noted here that Umer left this world earlier this month in Germany after battling with prolonged heart and kidney issues.
