Pakistani cricketer Zaman Khan has shared his amazing life story in a recent interview. He started from very simple beginnings and has now become a cricket sensation. Khan became famous for his debut match against Afghanistan in March 2023. He talked about his early days as a brick laborer and how he made it to the Pakistani cricket team.
Zaman Khan spoke to the official YouTube channel of PCB and explained how he grew up in a family where his father and brothers worked as laborers, doing all sorts of manual jobs, including woodwork. He, too, started doing labor work, like carrying bricks and other tasks.
Cricket, however, was his true passion. Khan mentioned that there was a cricket ground near his home, and he would watch people play cricket there. One day, he decided to join in, but things didn’t start well—he bowled 10 wide balls on his first day! However, he didn’t give up. The very next day, he bowled without a single wide ball. From then on, he fell in love with cricket and played passionately, even when he was unwell. He quietly pursued his passion for cricket over the years until he finally got selected.
Zaman Khan also shared the story of how he made it into Pakistan’s national cricket team. A friend told him about under-16 trials happening in Mirpur, and he decided to participate. Khan performed well during the trials. He also had a heartfelt talk with his family, requesting their support since he didn’t have any prior backing from them. Cricket has given him so much, including a good income.
Zaman Khan’s journey from being a brick laborer to a rising cricket star is a story of determination, talent, and unwavering love for the game.
