Looking ever-so-stellar in her violet attire, and oozing Priyanka Chopra vibes, Sonya Hussyn sure is a force to be reckoned with wherever she goes. She has come a long way from her TV debut in Dareecha, to making her mark in films like Moor and Azaadi, and is surely in no plans of stopping. In an exclusive one-on-one with the team of Behtareen.pk, Sonya Hussyn revealed her exciting upcoming projects, and we are here to fill you in on all the details.

There’s been a lot of speculation in the media over an upcoming period play, Aangan, and Hussyn finally disclosed she’ll be performing a complex character in the show. Interestingly, her character will portray the role of Ahsan Khan’s mother, and Hira Mani’s mother-in-law.

“Basically [in the show], they are all my children.” She said about her co-stars, specifically Ahsan Khan. “My character goes through many different shades and drives the story forward since the beginning of the show. Ehteshamuddin [the director] has shot it so beautifully, I couldn’t even recognise myself between takes”, she further added, pressing upon the significance of her character in the show.

According to Hussyn, Aangan will prove to be one of the biggest Momina Duraid productions, with a star-lit cast of Ahsan Khan, Mawra Hocane, Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir, Hira Mani, and the starlet herself.

When asked about how she manages going back and forth between the silver screen and the big screen, she pointed out how the Pakistani film industry is still in its establishing stage, and that she loves working in TV productions just as much.

“I consider myself extremely lucky in this matter, because usually drama actors are not considered to play [vital] roles in films. But people are still considering me for films, which is very good”, she says.

After flourishing in the film world, we will see Hussyn gracing our screens once again with another feature film, titled Sorry. Just like Aangan, this movie also has an ensemble cast of Faysal Qureshi, Aaminah Sheikh, Zahid Ahmed, and of course Sonya Hussyn. “All of the four characters [in Sorry] have their own journies, it’s basically a fun rom-com and a love story”, she explains.
