Pakistan Super League (PSL) season three drafts held this last week in Lahore where all six teams including the two-time runner-up Quetta Gladiators also picked their final squad. However, the Quetta Cricket Association (QCA) is unhappy with their selection for not picking a single player from the whole Balochistan.

The Gladiators earlier had Bismillah Khan, the only player from the whole Balochistan, but they decided not to retain him for season three. In a video message, president QCA Mr. Murad Ismail blamed the team owner for deliberately picking most players from Karachi and appealed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take action against the team.

“If they don’t want to pick any player from Quetta or Balochistan, they should change their name from Quetta Gladiators to Karachi Gladiators,” he criticized. “I appeal to the PCB to take action against this team and hand over its management to someone who will work for players of Quetta,” he appealed.

In response, the owner of Quetta Gladiators Mr. Nadeem Omer has assured that his team will pick one player. “We will be picking their 21st player from Quetta; whoever is the best available player,” he assured. “It can be an emerging youngster or an experienced senior but there will be one player from Quetta that will travel with the side in PSL3,” he added.
