Former Test cricketer Wasim Akram called his former teammate Shoaib Akhtar ‘Badtameez [Rude]’ and said a rude person can’t do anything in life.
Akram reacted to Akhtar’s recent interview in which he strongly wished to become the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s chairman and said people shouldn’t take him seriously.
“I don’t know why people take his talks seriously. Shoaib Akhtar Badtameez hain aur jinhen tameez na ho to woh zindagi mai kuch nahi karsakte [Shoaib Akhtar is rude and the one who doesn’t have manners, he can’t do anything in life],” he said in an ARY News show.
Akram, a member of PCB’s cricket committee, doesn’t see any liable option in the country to take up Pakistan’s team coaching. “I see no liable local name who can coach Pakistan team. If you see anyone, tell me?” he mentioned.
The host recommended Javed Miandad’s name as Pakistan coach but Akram said the latter is not aware of modern-day cricket. “See, Javed Bhai is a good cricket mind but he needs to be aware of modern-day cricket. The game has changed a lot and I don’t think he can adjust here,” he responded.
