The first theatrical trailer of The Legend of Maula Jatt was released this Independence Day, and safe to say, it pretty much broke the internet. In fact, it reached far and wide to the point where Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap also praised it.
“Finally the film I’ve loved so much and the film you really want to see, the trailer is out!” he wrote in a tweet, sharing the trailer of the film.

This was one crossover many didn’t know they needed, especially with how tense the relationship between the two neighbouring countries is. Many thought appreciation coming from India was a great deal.
So happy to see someone in India talking about this because I’ve been waiting for this movie since 2018 AND THE TRAILER LOOKS SO GOOD!😭 https://t.co/sMWeVKSuHY

The film, starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, and Mirza Gohar Rasheed among others, is the most expensive film to come out of Pakistan to date. Directed by Bilal Lashari, it is a hard reboot of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt. It is all set to hit cinemas on October 13.
