COVID-19 looms over Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5’s playoffs as Multan Sultans’ two foreign players reportedly tested positive for the widely-spread virus.

According to ESPNcricinfo, after Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah, England’s James Vince has also tested COVID-19 positive. Both the cricketers were scheduled to represent table-toppers Multan in the remaining matches of the league.

Vince has isolated himself after being COVID-19 positive, meanwhile, he will undergo second testing tomorrow. England’s Joe Denly is expected to replace him in Multan’s squad.

It must be noted here that PSL 5’s playoffs are scheduled to be played from November 14 to 17 in Karachi. Foreign players of all four qualified teams have started arriving in the city for the league’s completion.

Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings will face each other in first Qualifier on November 14 while Peshawar Zalmi to lock horns in first eliminator on the same day. Event’s final will be played on November 17.
