The winning team of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five will get a handsome check of US$500K, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday.

This is the first time after the Asia Cup 2008, Pakistan is going to host a high-profile cricket event containing the world’s renowned cricketers. The PCB has set higher levels to make this league bigger and better and keeping eye-catching prize money is one of those.

According to further details, the runner-up will receive a prize purse of US$200K. Furthermore, US$80K will be equally distributed to player-of-the-tournament, best batsman, best bowler and Spirit of Cricket. The remaining amount will be distributed for other match-related awards like best catch, best run-out, and most sixes.

It must be noted here that the PSL 5 will start from February 20 with an opening ceremony at National Stadium Karachi (NSK). The event’s final is scheduled for March 22 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
