If one girl has done the most efforts for women cricket in Pakistan, she’s undoubtedly the former ODI and T20 captain Sana Mir. The girl who twice led ‘girls in green’ to win Asia Cup, is celebrating her birthday today.

Sana Mir was born in Abbottabad and did her Bachelors in Statistics and Economics. She made her ODI debut in 2005 against Sri Lanka and was declared ‘Player of the Tournament’ at the 2008 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier. In 2009, Mir was given responsibility to led T20 team at Women’s World Twenty20.

In 2010, she led the girls to win Asia Cup for the first time. In 2014, she repeated the history and won another Gold in Asia Cup. In year 2013, Mir became the first woman to receive PCB’s Woman Cricketer of the Year Award.
