It is happening for the first time since the revival of Pakistani cinema that a film is marking the debut of director, writer, whole cast and musicians at same time. Thora Jee Le, an upcoming Pakistani film is actually of the youth, about the youth, and by the youth. “I have written it for youth and hopeful that it attract them,” shared the debutant director and writer Rafay Rashdi.

There are more interesting things about the movie, one of them is that the young writer and director has quite realistic expectations. Talking to the media at a meetup in Karachi, he endorsed that big names definitely matter to pull audiences. “But I know I am taking the risk and for example, if my film fails to attract public, I know I have tried,” he shared. “It’s better to work with fresh dedicated cast than work with those who might not even show up, which actually happens in the field,” he expressed.

The cast includes some of the youngest debutants in the Pakistani industry namely Rizwan Ali Jaffri, Bilal Abbas, Ramsha Khan, Salman Faisal, Fatima Shah Jillani, Kasim Khan and Ahsan Mohsin Ikram.

The story of the film revolves around seven friends belonging to different backgrounds and transition of their lives from college to practical life. It is a story about self-discovery, friendship, fun, and relationships between friends, who venture on a journey of a lifetime, only to discover that fate has different plans for all of them.

Thora Jee Le is a joint venture of HUM Films and Mahtab Akbar Rashdi. The film, produced by 1NFLUENCE and executively produced by Mahtab Akbar Rashdi will hit cinemas on January 20th, 2017 across Pakistan.
