Item numbers are a surefire way to enrage most Pakistanis, but that won’t stop filmmakers from including them in their films. As of recently, film Kaaf Kangana first made waves due to its peculiar trailer, and then because actress Neelam Muneer posted a clip of her item song from the film.
Safe to say, it wasn’t the song alone that stirred up a variety of emotions, but the caption that accompanied it. The actress stated, “I did this song only because this movie is a project of ISPR. Perhaps this is the first and last item song of my life. But you all know that whatever I do, I own it and I do it with pride.”
The actress further added how she will even lay her life down for her country, and hoped that people will enjoy this film wholeheartedly. And for those who are unaware, the ISPR is the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces which broadcasts and coordinates military news and information to the country’s civilian media and the civic society.
Too early to say whether Muneer will stick to her word and make this song the last item number of her career, but till then, the release of Kaaf Kangana will be enough to please her fans.
