Komal Meer, the rising star who stepped into the spotlight through Miss Veet Pakistan, is making a powerful comeback with her new drama Goonj on HUM TV.

She previously impressed audiences with roles in Ehd-e-Wafa, Qalandar, Raah e Junoon, and Badshah Begum. Now, she’s teaming up with producers Wajahat Rauf and Shazia Wajahat for a drama that addresses serious social issues.

Goonj has been in the works for two years and is written by Qurb e Aas and Saira Ghulamali. The drama is directed by Wajahat Rauf himself and promises to deliver both strong storytelling and social impact.

In a recent media interaction, Komal opened up about the message behind the drama. She emphasized that verbal harassment is still considered a taboo in Pakistan, but times are changing.

“I did my research and found that a legal precedent was recently set in Pakistan. A lot of girls came forward, and now, verbal harassment is officially recognized by law.”

Komal added that the purpose of Goonj is to raise awareness and motivate girls.

“We want to show through this script that there is a proper law. It’s not just about reporting and being ignored. Action can be taken, and help is available.”

The drama aims to inform audiences that verbal harassment can and should be reported and that legal support exists.
