For the very first time in the boxing history, a Pakistani boxer boxer has declared top ranked in Flyweight category by World Boxing Council (WBC). Muhammad Waseem, the two-time Silver Flyweight has achieved this milestone for Pakistan.

“It is a big achievement for me and Pakistan,” said Waseem on the occasion. “My next fight in on July 5th in Panama and I request all Pakistani fans to pray for me,” he added. The world number one will also fight for the gold title in the Flyweight category in September this year.

According to the latest WBC rankings of flyweight category, Mexico’s Francisco Rodriguez Junior and Great Britain’s Andrew Selby hold the second and third spots respectively.
