One of the greatest actors of the Golden Age in Indian cinema from the 1940s to the 1960s, Dilip Kumar aka Yousuf Khan passed away at 98 on Wednesday in Mumbai.
The legendary actor was shifted to the intensive care unit on June 30 due to health issues related to old age. On early Wednesday, a family friend Faisal Farooqui confirmed that Kumar was no more.
Alongside Bollywood and India, the Pakistani Prime Minister, celebrities, and people also expressed grief and sorrow on his death.
“I can never forget his generosity in giving his time to help raise funds for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital when the project was launched,” Pakistan’s Prime Minister wrote in a Tweet.
Saddened to learn of Dilip Kumar’s passing. I can never forget his generosity in giving his time to help raise funds for SKMTH when project launched. This is the most difficult time – to raise first 10% of the funds & his appearance in Pak & London helped raise huge amounts.
