The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has demoted former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed to C category in renewed Central Contracts which will come into effect from July 1.
According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), PCB has finalized the list of new central contracts. Sarfaraz, who was in A category, has been demoted due to losing his place in the national team.
The wicket-keeper batsman was removed from captaincy in all three formats of the game after new team management under the leadership of Misbah-ul-Haq took charge in 2019.
On the other hand, reports revealed that Hasan Ali is also on the verge of losing the central contract whereas Abid Ali and Shan Masood are likely to be promoted in the central contracts.
