Despite ignorance for over the years, wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal is once again ready to show his strength as the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five kicks off February 20.

While talking to the media in Karachi, Akmal said that he is determined to not give up and PSL is yet another opportunity for him to show his strength. “I am prepared well for the event and my complete focus is to continue performing in the PSL. It is a big tournament and performing here leaves a huge impact,” said the highest run-scorer in PSL to date.

He said that Peshawar Zalmi’s franchise has given him confidence as always and their support and back make him stronger. “Whether a youngster or senior like me, confidence is important for everyone. If your team believes in you, you can perform at any level. I am lucky to get helping team management and I really look forward to yet another successful PSL season,” he maintained.

Talking about the complete revival of PSL in Pakistan and the presence of all the big names of the cricket world in the country, Akmal said it will benefit the entire cricket structure and send a positive message to the world.

“I think players like Hashim Amla, Darren Sammy, Carlos Brathwaite, and many others are enjoying the cricket atmosphere in Pakistan which is a strong message to the world that Pakistan is safe and all sports events can take place here easily,” he concluded.
