Pakistan’s former captain Younis Khan spoke up after sudden resigning from the national team’s batting coach’s position a couple of days ago.
While talking in ARY News’ ‘Har Lamha Purjosh‘, Khan said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) didn’t want his support.
“Mai toh PCB ko sahara dene gaya tha. Ab kixi ko mera sahara nahi chaye, toh mai kia karsakta houn [I went to support PCB but if somebody doesn’t want my support, what can I do],” the former cricketer said.
“See, I was being offered to become the coach of the national team right after my retirement in 2017. But, I took three years to think before taking up this post. They didn’t want my support so here I am again,” Younis disclosed.
It must be noted here that Younis was appointed as the national team’s batting coach for two years in 2020. A couple of days ago, his sudden resignation made everyone surprised.
According to the reports, Younis was unhappy with National High-Performance Centre (NHPC)’s coaches interference in the national team’s affairs, especially, Mohammad Yousuf’s interference in the batting department of the team.
