A year ago, Pakistan’s most good looking export to India, Fawad Khan was in news for replacing Bollywood giants. Almost six months ago, things went wrong on both sides of the border which disturbed relations between two neighbours. A year later, the heartthrob is again in news, but, unfortunately, for a disappointing reason for his fans. According to Indian media report, the Bajrangi Bhaijan actor Salman Khan has replaced Fawad in Karan Johar’s upcoming Bollywood flick Raat Baaki.
“While KJo’s next directorial will be with Ranbir Kapoor, he wants to produce a film with Salman and Katrina in the lead as he finds their chemistry sizzling,” reported DNA Indian. “Earlier, the same film was to star Pakistani actor Fawad Khan along with Katrina, but with the ban on Pakistani actors during Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, that is not happening,” it added.
Earlier in 2016, we reported that heartthrob Fawad Khan had been approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali production to play Indian poet Sahir Ludhianvi in his biopic against Parineeti Chopra in Gustakhiyan. Later, it was revealed that Mahira Khan’s co-star in Raees, Shahrukh Khan has bagged the role.
Bollywood film director Karan Johar, who casted Pakistani super star Fawad Khan in his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, earlier said that he was scared of expressing his opinion freely after his film caught controversies. “I’m a liberal. In a headspace, that is extremely progressive about many things. But I just feel like I can’t say anything. I feel like I’ve joined the herd mentality of the silent society,” said Karan, who had been under threats from Indian extremist outfits for casting Fawad Khan and Imran Abbas in his movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
