Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said that demotion in central contracts didn’t bother him and he will keep on working hard to make a comeback in the national side.

Speaking on PCB podcast, Sarfaraz said that a cricketer’s life is full of ups and downs. He tries to take out positives every time to make himself better than earlier.

“I don’t think demotion in central contracts has hurt me anyway. It is a part of a cricketer’s life, sometimes you get everything and sometimes everything goes wrong, meanwhile, you need to be strong,” he said.

“A, B, or C, categories are not important for me. All players in central contracts are of top-class and I am honored to be a part of it. However, I am focusing on my goal which is to make a comeback in the national team,” he added.

Sarfaraz backed the decision to give A category contract to Shaheen Shah Afridi who has proved himself in recent times.

“Shaheen has improved himself a lot and shown quality performance recently. I am happy to see him in the A category,” he concluded.

It must be noted here that Sarfaraz has been demoted in B category in renewed central contracts which will come into effect from July 1.
