Yasir Hussain’s ‘Javed Iqbal’ bags two awards in UK Asian film festival


Yasir Hussain’s crime thriller ‘Javed Iqbal’ bagged two awards in the United Kingdom Asian Film Festival, the actor announced himself on social media.

Yasir, who played lead role of Pakistan’s most-wanted serial killer ‘Javed Iqbal‘ in the film, bagged ‘best actor’ award whereas Abu Aleeha won the accolade for ‘best director’.

“Bohot mubarak ho Pakistan. Javed Iqbal ko UK Asian film festival mai 2 awards mily. One for me as the (best actor) and one for my director Abu Aleeha (best director), Alhamduliah!” Yasir wrote on Instagram.

‘Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’ featuring Yasir and Ayesha Omar hasn’t been released in Pakistan yet as authorities reportedly put objections on content of the film. Earlier, release of the film was postponed twice as it failed to get green signal from the censor board.
