Former Test cricketer Ramiz Raja thinks that the idea of banning Youtube due to few ignorant people is not ideal at a time when the whole world is growing digitally.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Raja said that YouTube is a platform for Pakistanis to earn and express skills internationally. “Due to a few ignorant people, it is ridiculous to ban YouTube. I think where people are using it in wrong ways, there are people who express their skills and earn through it,” he said.
“It is important to let such social platforms run in the country to promote Digital Pakistan,” he added.
Remember, the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) hinted towards banning YouTube in the country. Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Mushir Alam heard the case of a man, Shaukat Ali, involved in a sectarian crime. In their final verdict, they raised questions at unregulated content on social media, especially content against the judiciary, the armed forces, and the government.
