Ali Zafar’s appointment as ambassador for Namal Knowledge City by Prime Minister Imran came under immense criticism on social media.
Taking to Twitter, people bashed government for extending relations with the singer following the Meesha Shafi harassment case. Twitterati think there could have been a better option than him.

#AliZafar Slap in the face of all women by Imran Khan. Shameful that he has shown unequivocal support for a man against whom an allegation of sexual harassment is still pending. Grotesque.

So someone who has a bleak past and a controversial personality is appointed as the PM’s advisor. Wow!
Gone are the days when character was the among the most important criteria for such public appointments— Far (@Farha_kay) October 26, 2020
A better option might have been someone who has not been accused of sexual harassment and actually has something to do with education.

It must be noted here that Meesha, on April 19, 2018, accused Ali of harassing her during a project. The singer filed an FIR against Teefa In Trouble actor. In November 2018, Ali rejected all the allegations and claimed that a number of fake accounts were involved in running the #MeToo campaign against him on different social platforms.
According to the recent development in the case, Federal Investigation Authority (FIA)’s special court registered First Information Report (FIR) against Meesha and eight others who were allegedly involved in running a defamatory online campaign against Ali. Other than Meesha, Iffat Omar, Lena Ghani, Fareeha Ayub, Mahim Javed, Ali Gul Pir, Haseem Zaman Khan, Hamna Raza, and Syed Faizan Raza were also named in the FIR.
