Zubab Rana has been quick to achieve the rising star status in the industry, having worked in three stellar TV productions. You may remember her from her debut in Naseebon Jali, or as giving a compelling performance in Bandish. If not, her antagonistic role in Mere Khudaya is definitely memorable, as it bagged her the nomination for Best Emerging Talent at the 18th Lux Style Awards.

We sat down with her for a quick chat, and she had some interesting revelations up her sleeve. The young actress revealed how being a part of the entertainment industry was always her goal. “I wanted to be a part of the media industry since childhood. My plan was to become an actress or a model, I didn’t want to stick to one thing,” she said.

Although the actress started taking up modelling gigs at the age of eighteen, she gained critical acclaim through the three drama serials she did recently. Out of all, she feels Bandish was lauded the most. “Bandish held a separate place, as compared to other dramas. All three dramas were appreciated, but Bandish received the most acclaim,” she said.

Now that she has made quite a name for herself in the drama industry, how soon would it be till she branches out to the big screen? “I will do a film, I have a couple of films right now. But I am more focused on the plot, it should be good,” she said. Beauty with brains – check! She also deemed Punjab Nai Jaungi and Jawani Phir Nai Ani 2 as her favourites, and is eagerly looking forward to all the films that are coming out this Eid.

However, the most interesting bit of our conversation was when the actress revealed how she wishes to work with Humayun Saeed, with him being her life-long crush! “I want to work with Humayun Saeed, because he is my all-time crush. When I was a kid, I followed his Mehndi drama and I loved him in it. I also liked him in Dillagi,” she stated. Boy, we hope we get to see them sharing screen space soon!
