If this year has been kind to one actress in Pakistan, she is definitely Urwa Hocane. Firstly, drama serial Udaari proved to be a breakthrough for her. The actress also won best on-screen couple award with her real life partner Farhan Saeed. And now, she is the only actress who is a part of both Eid ul Azha releases, Punjab Nahi Jaungi and Na Maloom Afraad 2.

While Hocane was actively taking part in promoting Punjab Nahi Jaungi starring Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat in leading roles, the actress hardly took out much time to promote the sequel of her big screen debut, Na Maloom Afraad (with exception of couple of photoshoots). Giving an interview to BBC Urdu, she revealed that her reason for choosing the sequel was just because she was part of the prequel.

“It’s a man man-driven film, women are not really playing a significant role in it. I became a part of NMA 2 because I was part of the family that was obviously introduced in NMA,” she revealed. “In the first part, the female characters were quite well-defined, I only chose to do this because I was playing Javed Sheikh’s sister and Fahad’s [Mustafa] wife previously,” she added.

The actress complained about the lack of importance to female roles in Na Maloom Afraad 2. “Fizza and Nabil are the witnesses. I was complaining about it a lot.”
