Pakistani PAK MMA Star, Bashir Ahmad adds another feather in his cap by winning the gold medal in the 85kg weight of the expert division at the Bangkok Jiu Jitsu Championships in Thailand.

I would like to dedicate this win to all the martyrs and real heroes of my beloved country, especially those who perished 3 years back and to those who stopped the tragedy for further escalation like my boys at SSG Pakistan Army. Long Live Pakistan!” expressed the champion.

Ahmad is widely known as the “Godfather of Pakistani MMA.” Born in Pakistan, he left for the United States as a child and served in Army. He did a tour of Iraq in 2004-2005, where he began studying martial arts. In 2009, he moved to Pakistan to promote the sport of Mixed Martial Arts through his organization (PAKMMA).

Later, he became the first person to represent Pakistan in international MMA competition when he made his debut at the largest MMA league in Asia, ONE Championship in April 2013. The Godfather defeated the heavily favored Shannon “One Shin” Wriratchai. His success has inspired and mentored other fighters to follow in his footsteps and become stars in their own right.
