Eight British Muslim men have recently finished their cycling journey of approx 3,200km to reach Madinah in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. These men call themselves Hajj Riders and have crossed nine countries in six weeks to reach to their destination.

When they reached to their destination, they were given a police escort to reach the Prophet’s Mosque (Haram). All of them performed Sajda and were overwhelmed by the response of people present at the Mosque. Some of them even broke in tears of joy.

Hajj Raiders have come from different parts of United Kingdom and travelled through Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Greece and Egypt to reach Saudi Arabia. Earlier, they attended tough training for three months to accomplish task..

These men faced tough weather conditions during their journey and cycled on roads and mountains but they received warm welcomes from locals, which boosted their confidence and strength. People offered them food and shelters.

“We’ve been through rain, sunshine, sandstorms and through the Swiss Alps,” said Taher Akhtar, who was one of the cyclist who arrived Madinah, according to Arab News. “We’ve been up at 10,000 ft elevation and suffered frozen fingers and noses, but because Allah is with us, He made it easy. We are all blessed,” he continued.

“Just walking into the Haram, I can’t bring the emotions into words, nearly six weeks of riding, I can’t believe the journey is complete, but one journey is finished and now we must complete the next part,” said another member of the squad named Abdul Mukith.
