Meesha Shafi has been summoned through bailable arrest warrants of 50,000 in a defamation case filed against her by Ali Zafar.

A local court’s bench headed by Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza dismissed Meesha’s request seeking exemption from in-person appearance in the hearing.

Earlier too, Meesha was summoned through a bailable arrest warrant for not appearing in the court.

Last month, Lahore High Court, under the bench of Justice Asim Hafeez, directed to proceed in Meesha’s Rs2 billion defamation case against the male counterpart.

In the latest development, LHC lifted the stay order on the defamation suit by Meesha against Ali. The case proceeded alongside Ali’s Rs2 billion defamation suit against the female singer.
