Dawar Mehmood is often referred to as the king of local theatre, and his collaborations with Yasir Hussain have garnered rave reviews and more. The two recently worked together on Anwar Maqsood’s Naach Na Jaaney, with Mehmood in the director’s seat while the Hussain gave the performance of a lifetime onstage. And it looks like the two have a lot more up their sleeve.

In a recent Q&A session with Mehmood on Instagram, he was asked when he’d be delving into filmmaking, to which he responded he’d do it whenever Hussain writes one. He further added that the shooting will start by the end of this year, confirming there’s a film in the works.
The director was also asked about his upcoming projects in another post, and he revealed a new play scheduled for August, and also reaffirmed the production of his first film.
Mehmood’s expertise in theatre has raised the expectations up a notch, can’t wait to see what he has to offer on the silver screen!
