It’s been a couple of years since the announcement of Shoaib Mansoor’s next film Aasmaan Bolay Ga, starring Emmad Irfani and Maya Ali. Any and all details were kept under wraps but Irfani recently spoke to Dawn Images about developments in the project and how the film could be released by the end of this year.
“We’re working on the date, I hope it’s December or January,” he shared.
While not much is known about the plot, Irfani shed light on his role, which will of an Air Force pilot. “It all started with a phone call some two or two and a half years ago and it sounded too good to be true. The character is a Pakistan Air Force F-16 pilot, one of my childhood dreams was to fly an F-16. I think a lot of my desires have been fulfilled in this film,” he said.
An interesting fact revealed by Irfani was how the title of the film connects to Mansoor’s previous films as he quoted a popular saying in Urdu. “Aasmaan Bolay Ga, Khuda ke liye bol warna aasmaan bolay ga [For God’s sake, speak or else the sky will speak]. His legacy has become the completion of this saying,” he shared.
Apart from sharing screen space with Maya Ali, the actor also revealed the rest of the cast associated with the project. “There are some very important characters [such as] Noman Ali Khan Sitara-e-Jurat, who’s being played by Asim Kakakhel, and Hassan Siddiqui Tamgha-i-Jurat, that’s being played by Qasim Ben Tariq and Noreen Gulwani is playing a very important role and Adnan Jaffar [as well]. These are very important characters that complete this puzzle,” he said.
Moreover, Faisal Kapadia will be singing the soundtrack for the film. Irfani also shared how the film will be dedicated to another very popular personality. “This movie is dedicated to Junaid Jamshed so we’re revisiting the nostalgia of Vital Signs also,” he said.
Reportedly, a huge part of the film has been shot in Turkey, while the rest was shot in Pakistan and a few other places. The exact release date and more details are kept under wraps but keep an eye on this space for more details.
