2018 surely was the year of the weirdest crossovers, but this year might just take it up a notch. Recently, a single tweet has created a stir within fan communities on social media, and is hinting on a major collaboration. And the artists in question are none other than Pakistan’s vocal legend, Atif Aslam, and renowned American music producer and DJ Marshmello.
Earlier this week, Marshmello tweeted Aslam, asking the singer if he can send him a direct message.
@itsaadee can you dm me?

There could be numerous reasons behind this interaction, but what majorly appeals to crowd is a collaboration. Seeing as how the masked man behind Marshmello, Christopher Comstock, has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music biz, like Selena Gomez, a song with Aslam would be a musical breakthrough.
And ever since the tweet showed up on everyone’s timelines, the fans have been going wild and are hoping for a joint venture.

While some suggested he should try messaging Aslam on his Instagram.

This certainly has raised the excitement level to the sky for music fanatics everywhere, but official details haven’t resurfaced. If a possible collaboration really is in the works, it would be interesting to see how Aslam blends in with EDM and the likes of it. Or vice versa. Either way, it will be a fusion to eagerly look out for.
