Guptill, Russell, Shakib become part of remaining PSL 6

All six franchises picked replacements for their foreign players who showed complete or partial unavailability for the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6, scheduled from June 1 to 20 in Karachi.

Karachi Kings picked Martin Guptill in the Platinum category, Quetta Gladiators lifted Andre Russell, Islamabad United brought in Usman Khuwaja whereas Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars went for Mahmudullah and Shakib-al-Hasan respectively in this category.

Six teams have made their call for replacements in a draft conducted online on Tuesday. Team owners, coaches, and managers took part in the online session.

Karachi Kings: Martin Guptill replaces Colin Ingram, Thisara Perera replaces Mohammad Nabi, Najeebullah Zadran replaces Dan Christian, Litton Das replaces Joe Clarke

Islamabad United: Usman Khawaja replaces Alex Hales, Janneman Malan replaces Lewis Gregory.

Lahore Qalandars: Shakib-al-Hasan replaces Rashid Khan, James Faulkner replaces David Wiese, Joe Burns replaces Samit Patel, Callum Fergusson replaces Tom Abell, Seekuge Prasanna replaces Joe Denly

Multan Sultans: Mahmudullah Riyad replaces Chris Lynn, Rahmanullah Gurbaz replaces James Vince, George Linde replaces Adam Lyth, Obed McCoy replaces Carlos Brathwaite

Peshawar Zalmi: Fabian Allen replaces Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Rovman Powell replaces Liam Livingstone, Fidel Edwards replaces Saqib Mahmood

Quetta Gladiators: Andre Russell replaces Tom Banton

Remember, PSL 6 was postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak in the bio-secure bubble. This time PCB has appointed a British company to establish bio-secure bubble for safe run of the tournament. This is the same company that managed bio-secure bubbles in England and during last year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).
