Former Australian captain Shane Watson admires Pakistan’s legendary pacer, Wasim Akram and calls him one of his heroes.

While talking to the media in Karachi, Watson revealed his following for Akram aka ‘Swing Ka Sultan’. Meanwhile, he apologized to Akram for hitting him sixes during the Bushfire Cricket Bash earlier this month in Melbourne.

“He is one of my heroes, to be honest, I grew up watching him play. I felt really bad while hitting him sixes in the Bushfire contest. I really want to say him sorry,” Watson said upon being asked.

On the other hand, Watson once again showed his love for Quetta Gladiators in the PSL and is confident to help his team defend the title. “We are well prepared and highly looking forward to taking up the challenge,” he said.

The right-arm all-rounder gave a clean indication to all the opponents that Gladiators will be unstoppable on their day. “I mean our team looks quite formidable. Oppositions will have to do really well to beat us on our day,” Watson maintained.

To a query about visiting Quetta from where his franchise belongs to, Watson said he would love to go there. “Last year, I saw videos of fans welcoming the champion side in Quetta. I was highly impressed with that and I would really love to go there and meet Gladiators’ fans,” he concluded.
