The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to remove Misbah-ul-Haq as head coach after the upcoming home series against South Africa.

According to Samaa Tv, the PCB is not happy with Misbah’s performance as head coach and looking forward to once again bringing a foreign coach at the national team’s helm.

South Africa’s Gary Kristen and Zimbabwe’s Grant Flower are in the race to become the new head coach of the Pakistan team, the news channel reported. Flower had served the Pakistan team as batting coach in Mickey Arthur’s tenure whereas Kristen has vast experience of coaching in international and league cricket.

It is pertinent to mention here that under Misbah Pakistan only won three home Tests against minnows Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The green caps lost Test series in Australia, England, and New Zealand.

Pakistan had also lost the home T20I series against Sri Lanka immediately after he took charge as head coach, batting coach, and chief selector.

Following poor performance, Misbah was first removed as batting coach then chief selector. Later on, Younis Khan was brought in as batting coach and Mohammad Wasim as chief selector.
