The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s 53rd Governing Council meeting in Quetta went a little awry as the majority of the Board of Governors (BoG) rejected the appointment of Wasim Khan, the recently appointed Managing Director.

The resolution, which was written and signed by five of the seven BoG members, demanded that MD Wasim Khan’s appointment and the unconstitutional post of MD PCB be declared null and void. These members included Shahraiz Rokri (Lahore), Noman Butt (Sialkot), Shah Dost (Quetta), Kabir Khan (FATA) and Ataz Butt (KRL).

In addition, the board also proposed the new domestic cricket structure. “Any motive to finish departments and regions in bringing up a new domestic structure is thus rejected,” the resolution stated.

The members also demanded the formation of a Domestic Cricket Restructuring Committee (DCRC), in order to draw up proposals and recommendations for domestic restructuring.

“A Domestic Cricket Restructuring Committee (DCRC) comprising all four members of BoGs constitute four regions, with a departmental resolution, be constituted to firm up proposals for domestic restructuring within the coming 10 days and present the same in the special BoGs meeting to be held in Lahore on April 30,” the statement declared.
