Veteran actress Reema Khan wants the Pakistan Television (PTV) to respect and promote their own artists who are tax-payers of this country.

Speaking on her live Ramadan transmission, the actress shared her views on airing ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’, a Turkish drama serial dubbed in Urdu, in Pakistan. She thinks that Pakistan has its own content which needs to be delivered to the audience.

“When you have our own content, and your own artists are sitting at home then why you are buying content from others and promoting it. This thing hurts so much. Because the artists of this country are paying tax, not foreign artists,” she said.

Reema also supported her fellow actor Shan Shahid’s point-of-view against promoting ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ in Pakistan. “I would second Shan’s opinion related to airing ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ in our country. It is better to telecast our own content on national tv,” she maintained.

Earlier, Shan expressed the same opinion related to airing content of some other country. He reiterated to respect and promote Pakistani content and artists.

It must be noted here that ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ has gained popularity in Pakistan due to showing Islamic history. The drama serial has been aired on PTV on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
