Rahat Fateh Ali Khan paid tribute to his uncle and late Qawwali Maestro, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with one of his famous Qawwalis ‘Sanson Ki Mala’ remake.
Talking about the remake in an interview, Rahat said this Qawwali was too close to his heart. “Sanson Ki Mala is very close to my heart and this time, it has been presented as a fusion track, conceptualised by Salman Ahmed,” said Rahat, adding on, “I dedicate the release to my mentor Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and my father Ustad Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan. The video of the song is unique, with its locations and the entire feel mesmerising.”

The singer further said this remake was even not closer to the likes of its original version. “The originals have a beautiful trance to them and you can’t match that. I have to adapt these songs to a Bollywood style,” he highlighted.
It must be noted here that the video of the song has been shot in Pakistan which has glimpses of Rahat performing as a child next to the maestro himself. The video also reminisced Ustad Nusrat’s live performance
